Spatial mismatch for distinct socioeconomic groups in Xiamen, China

Studies have found that spatial mismatch is a universal phenomenon, although both their substantive and methodological focus can differ substantially. In China, there growing body of literature on mismatch, but few studies measured the degree between local migrant workers in different occupations. To fill this gap, research investigates for socioeconomic groups Xiamen according to “hukou” status occupation. As one country’s first four special economic zones, achieved housing marketization earlier than most other Chinese cities, attracting large amount capital migrants, shaping patterns workers. The findings show blue-collar, pink-collar, white-collar workers, who are further categorized as either locals or experience varying degrees job accessibility mismatch. addition, even though less they still disadvantages terms commuting time due travel mode. results presented paper helpful understanding various social facilitating sustainable mobility equity.
